The old mentality is prevailing deeply in the
Chinese teaching. It needs a long period of alternative teaching to turn the ship around.
The young artist Jenni-Juulia Wallinheimo once had an exhibition in the Hunan University of Technology in Zhuzhou China. The response was very positive. As a result of that, the university invited her to have an artistic workshop with students and teachers.
In 2006 she accepted the invitation. It is a well-known fact that Chinese students mainly have to study through copying what their professor's lecture. Therefore Jenni-Juulia decided to teach them some creative thinking. The attempt was not only a success but partially a failure because of the deeply rooted Chinese thinking.
