Grand-Popo
village in Benin is the site of the Finnish-African Cultural Centre called Villa Karo. It started the co-operation between two countries eight years ago. As a result, the small sleepy village has revived to a lively surrounding. Its main idea is to bring Finnish artists to the village for a period of time to learn and to understand the African life and culture. In addition to that, Grand-Popo is an enticing place for students from many countries to learn and study local architecture,
sociology and languages.
